Someone pisses you off and you immediately go into cleaning mode…
Angry cleaner??
Someone pisses you off and you immediately go into cleaning mode.
Dirty stairs? No problem.
Dirty bathroom? I got you.
Walls a little dusty? Yup, I’m there.
Floors need polishing? I’m your woman.
Just kidding.
I spent years as an angry cleaner avoiding all the emotions, only to have them blow up later down the road.
Not ideal.
But it was coping mechanism, until I learned another way.
Sometimes, I still go into cleaning mode, but once I catch myself, I stop and actually feel my emotions to see what’s really going on. More often than not, it has nothing to do with the other person, but rather my own insecurities. Once, I look at them and feel them, I can address the situation in a more neutral state and not regret anything I’ve said.
The first step to doing this is to be aware of what you’re feeling and then choosing how you want to respond.
